INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT IN BOCA RATON FOR LONG TERM STEWARDSHIP

Investment management in Boca Raton handled as portfolio construction, asset allocation, and tax-sensitive investing from a fiduciary CFP. Fee-based, no proprietary product pressure.

Fiduciary CFP® Fee-Based Independent Firm Tax-Sensitive

WHY CLIENTS CHOOSE US

Investment work, done in the context of a real plan.

Allocation built around your situation

Time horizon, tax situation, income needs, risk tolerance. The portfolio is built from those inputs, not from a one-size model.

Tax-sensitive, every step

Asset location across taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free accounts. Tax-loss harvesting, gain budgeting, and Roth conversion coordination.

Independent custodian, not in-house

Your assets are held at a major independent custodian. We don't take custody. Compensation is advisory fees, not commissions on what we recommend you buy.

Rebalancing on a schedule

Drift gets corrected on a defined cadence, not when someone happens to remember. The discipline is the point.

Connected to the plan

Investment decisions reference the broader plan: cash flow, tax, retirement, estate.  See how planning ties in →

Semiannual review, written summary

Twice a year you get a written portfolio summary with positioning, performance context, and what changed. Not just a statement.

How we approach investment management.

The right portfolio is the one you can hold through what the market does over the next twenty years. That means the work is less about picking winners and more about building a structure that matches your time horizon, your tax situation, and your tolerance for the drawdowns that will happen.

Beth's framing on this: the math of returns is the easy part. What separates a good outcome from a bad one is whether you stay in the seat during the years where staying in feels worst. The portfolio design and the coaching that comes with it are both part of the work.

OUR APPROACH

How Investment Management works at Intercoastal.

Three things that shape how we deliver investment management for South Florida clients.

1 Coordinated, not siloed

Investment Management doesn't sit alone. The investment plan, the tax plan, and the estate plan reference each other. We coordinate all three so decisions match.

2 Personal, not templated

No off-the-shelf model portfolios or boilerplate plans. The recommendations match your specific income, tax bracket, family situation, and timeline.

3 Ongoing, not transactional

We meet twice a year on a set schedule, and more often when life calls for it. The relationship is long-term by design.

What we cover in investment management.

  • Portfolio construction. Stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, and where appropriate, alternatives.
  • Asset allocation strategy. Built around your time frames, income needs, and tax situation.
  • Asset location. Which holdings live in taxable, tax-deferred, and Roth accounts to minimize lifetime tax drag.
  • Tax-sensitive investing. Tax-loss harvesting, gain budgeting, and coordination with the broader tax plan.
  • Portfolio rebalancing. On a defined schedule, with rules for when drift triggers a trade.
  • IRA and 401(k) management. Including rollovers and ongoing portfolio work in retirement accounts.
  • Risk management. Concentration position management, hedging where appropriate, and the conversation about how much volatility you can actually sit with.
  • Charitable giving coordination. Donating appreciated securities, donor-advised funds, and other tax-smart giving strategies.

What we don't do.

Contact Us Today

We don't lead with proprietary products, structured notes, or non-traded REITs as a portfolio building block. We don't take custody of your assets. We don't promise market-beating returns. The honest answer is that nobody who has to tell the truth to a regulator can.

How accounts work.

Your accounts are held at a major independent custodian. You can log in anytime, see your holdings, see performance, and download statements. We've discretionary authority to trade in line with the agreed plan, but we don't hold or move money outside of trades.

Compensation is a percentage of assets under management, fully disclosed in advance. Most relationships also include a financial planning component without an additional planning fee.

What your review looks like.

Twice a year you get a written summary covering what the portfolio did, what we changed, what's coming up (rebalancing dates, tax-loss harvesting windows, RMD deadlines if applicable), and any decisions we need from you. Once a year we sit down for a full review of allocation, goals, and the broader plan.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Common questions about Investment Management

  • Portfolio construction, asset allocation, ongoing rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, asset location across taxable and retirement accounts, and semiannual review and reporting. For most clients it also includes coordination with the broader financial plan.
  • At a major independent custodian, not in our name. We've discretionary authority to trade in line with the agreed strategy, but we don't take custody. You can log in anytime, see your holdings, and download statements.
  • Investment management is billed as a percentage of assets under management, scaled down as account size grows. The fee covers the portfolio work, ongoing planning, and access to the team. Specific rates are disclosed before any engagement.
  • No. Anybody who promises a specific return on a portfolio of real-world investments is either lying or selling something. What we promise is a disciplined process, a portfolio built around your situation, and honest communication when things change.
  • For most portfolios, the building blocks are low-cost index ETFs and mutual funds, individual fixed income, and where appropriate, separately managed accounts. We don't lead with proprietary products, structured notes, or non-traded REITs. Specific allocation depends on your plan.
  • Active 401(k)s usually have to be self-directed within the plan's available options, but we can review your allocation and recommend changes. Old 401(k)s can be rolled over into an IRA we manage if that fits your plan. See the IRA rollover page for details.
